How to Vote For a Write-In Candidate
The 2006 Illinois General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 7. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Voting for Angel Rivera is a easier than you might think. On your ballot, just make sure to follow any instructions particular to your
counties’ voting system. For example, in addition to writing “Angel Rivera” on a blank line for a write-in candidate, you may be asked to
fill in an oval next to the line as well. Just be sure to pay close attention to whatever directions are given.
From the Illinois State Board of Elections:
You may cast a write-in vote for a candidate whose name is not on the ballot. Write the name of your candidate on the blank line provided
directly at the end of the list of candidates for that office. Complete the arrow or fill in the oval next to the name of your write-in
candidate.
